This assessment was derived by Dr. Robert McGrath from the original VIA-240 by taking the 5 items for each scale with the highest corrected item-total correlations. Average internal consistency reliability is .79 (very good) compared with a mean reliability of .83 for the VIA-IS. Initial validity coefficients are between .39 and .50 and are slightly lower than for the VIA-IS (click here for details).
