Become a Certified Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice Facilitator

Lead transformative mindfulness and strengths-based programs with official certification from the VIA Institute on Character.

Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP) is the first evidence-based program designed to enhance well-being, improve relationships, and manage life problems and challenges.

There are two requirements to become certified to teach Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP):

• Complete the 8-Week MBSP Course.

• Enroll in the MBSP Certification (You're on the right page to register! Learn more about certification here.)

2 MBSP Certification Tracks

Whether you're just starting your MBSP journey or have already completed the 8-week course, there’s a clear path for you to become MBSP Certified.  

1. New to MBSP & Want to Get Certified  

If you haven’t yet taken the MBSP 8-week program, this path is for you. When you enroll in MBSP Course & Certification, you’ll automatically be registered for the next MBSP 8-week course starting May 7th, and in the MBSP Certification starting October 15th.

Advanced Practice

• October 8th - November 12th, 2025

• Wednesdays, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Eastern

Community Builder

• October 15th - November 12th, 2025

• Wednesdays, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Eastern

2. Completed the 8-week MBSP Course & Want to Get Certified

If you’ve completed the MBSP Course any time since 2021, you’re eligible to enroll in the Certification Only path at a discounted rate. If you completed prior to 2020, please reach out to programs@viacharacter.org to register.
